AR Rahman’s recent concert in Chennai faced serious criticism due to poor organization. The event was organized by ACTC Events, and it led to unfortunate incidents. Many concertgoers had a tough time as women experienced harassment, children were displaced, and a stampede occurred. Rahman publicly apologized and pledged to rectify the situation.
AR Rahman’s daughters defend their father
Now, Rahman’s daughters, Raheema and Khatija, have come forward to support their father on social media. They shared an infographic detailing Rahman’s past concerts and how the proceeds were used for charitable purposes. This infographic aimed to counter accusations that Rahman was involved in any wrongdoing during the concert.
What conflict arose at AR Rahman’s concert?
The concert took place at Adityaram Palace in Chennai on September 10, attracting a massive crowd of over 45,000 people. However, serious issues emerged. Many ticket holders were denied entry due to overcrowding, causing distress. There were also concerns about the safety of women, children, and the elderly.
In response to these problems, the Tambaram Police initiated an inquiry into ACTC events for overcrowding and traffic chaos. Both Rahman and the event management company expressed their commitment to making amends for the troubles faced by concert attendees. An inquiry is underway to address the issues, and Rahman has promised to compensate those affected.
